About Us

Our Story

The photo above was taken in Vero Beach, FL. This was Zack’s first and last time seeing the ocean. He stood there captivated and said, “it is so beautiful.” For 30 minutes he stared in awe just appreciating the beauty. I will never forget this day.

My name is Carolyn. I am married to my best friend, Eric, and mother to three wonderful sons. We are the parents every parent dreads becoming… We buried one of our children. Our oldest son, Zackary, went to Heaven in November 2016 from brain cancer. Broken was an understatement, I was demolished. His loss forever fractured our family, we are now, and always will be, “incomplete”.

His passing hurt each of us so much. His younger brother, Noah, felt as if he lost a son because Zackary was special needs, and Noah helped care for him. Jacob, the youngest, said he lost the only person that understood him. Jacob has autism, and so did Zack. They were best friends, inseparable, and understood each other as no one else could.

His loss left a hole in each of our hearts. We are forever scarred, but…

We have learned to truly live again. We have real moments of happiness and laughter. Despite the constant hurt, we have learned to live with hope and joy again.

I pray that what I learned along my grief journey will show you that you can heal enough to find hope and joy again. It takes time, lots and lots of time, but there is hope my friend.

Our Family

Eric and I

This is my wonderful husband. He is truly the most amazing dad and husband in the world. I adore him! Zackary always said his dad was a good man and he loved him.

Zackary

This is our precious oldest son, Zackary. Everybody that met him loved him, he was a friend to everyone. He loved the "unlovable". We used to say to him he was a little piece of Heaven here on earth. Such a loving, kind, genuine person. Oh, how we miss him. We will grieve his loss forever. God rescued him from the suffering and pain of brain cancer in 2016 at the young age of 20. One day we will see him again, until then, we honor and remember him by sharing his story and our journey with you.

Noah

Our middle son and one of the most kind hearted genuine peole I have ever known. He was an amazing brother to Zackary, and cared for him like a second father. He is also a talented singer and crazy smart.

Jacob in front, Me, and Noah

Our youngest, Jacob. He is such a special, gentle soul. He is also one of the bravest people. He is on the autism spectrum but that doesn't stop him. We are extremely proud of him. He and Zackary were absolutely the best of friends. Losing his oldest brother devastated him.
